Baghdad, SANA- Leader of the State of Law coalition in Iraq, Nouri al-Maliki, called on the countries of the world, especially Arab and Islamic countries, not to be impartial and to stand by Syria in the face of the terrorism to which it is subjected.
Al-Maliki pointed out that the terrorism that Syria is being exposed to today was carefully prepared and affects the entire region, especially neighboring countries.
“The terrorist attacks that are happening in Syria are not surprising, but rather are part of the contexts that the region is exposed to, and Syria is targeted because of its geographical location, its role in the region, and its border,” INA Agency quoted al-Maliki as saying in a press conference.
He denounced foreign interference and attacks on Syria’s unity and sovereignty, pointing out that some countries want to “overthrow” Syria, end its role as a state, and divide countries around the Israeli occupation entity.
Syria is a pivotal state and that “overthrowing it” means violating the entire region, stressing that defending it is defending the neighboring countries and the region, so it must be protected to stand up to this challenge, he stressed.
