Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad received on Monday a telephone call from Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
President Maduro said that the government and people of Venezuela stand by Syria in its war on terrorism and the countries that sponsor it.
He stressed that the American west seeks to weaken Syria for its role in the region represented by its national sovereignty and independent decision-making.
President al-Assad said that the destiny of independent peoples is to confront the plots of the American West, adding that confronting and defeating terrorism is the most prominent challenge to face these plots.
