Damascus, SANA- Syria condemned Wednesday the violations that have taken place in some areas of Sweida Governorate, as unacceptable “criminal and illegal behaviors” and pledged to hold involved accountable.
The Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic said in a statement published on its Telegram channel: “The Syrian state has been following very carefully the unfortunate violations that have recently taken place in some areas of Sweida Governorate”.
“These acts, which fall within the category of criminal and illegal behavior, are unacceptable under any circumstances and completely contradict the principles upon which the Syrian state is based”, the statement added.
The Presidency added “We, in the Syrian government, strongly condemn these shameful acts and affirm our full commitment to investigating all related incidents and holding accountable anyone proven to be involved”.
“Any party responsible for these acts, whether individuals or outlaw organizations, will be subject to deterrent legal accountability, and we will not allow them to go unpunished” the statement said.
The presidency stressed that “The Syrian state, with its leadership and apparatus, places the highest priority on protecting security and stability throughout Syria and affirms that justice is the standard applied in all cases”.
“We assure our people in Sweida that their rights will always be protected, and that we will not allow any party to tamper with their security or stability”, the statement concluded.
