Damascus, SANA – A delegation from Saudi Arabia toured Damascus International Airport on Thursday to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities in the civil aviation sector.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation said on its telegram channel that the Saudi delegation conducted a field tour of the airport’s facilities accompanied by a delegation from the GACA, during which they were briefed on the reality of services, infrastructure and technologies used at the airport.
According to the authority, this visit comes within the framework of preparing for an upcoming ministerial-level visit from the Saudi side, following intensive meetings held between the two sides during two days, which discussed possible cooperation mechanisms and investment opportunities in the air transportation sector and Syrian airport facilities.
On July 6, a delegation from Qatar Airways toured Aleppo International Airport to operate direct flights between the two countries.
