Damascus, SANA-A wide variety of seeds was present at the pavilions of Syrian companies specialized in seed production and import, participating in the Agritex International Agricultural Expo.
The Expo provides an opportunity to introduce farmers and visitors to the unique advantages of each company, serving the local market and meeting the needs of Syrian agriculture.
According to agricultural engineer Mohammad Nini, “Old Beroya” Agricultural Development Company is among the companies that rely on importing high-quality seeds and fertilizers.
He said that the company has a project to introduce cotton seeds imported from well-known companies, which it is working to implement in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture. Cotton seeds are considered a variety with high productivity and drought tolerance.
Dr. Jinan Othman, said that Barada Seeds Company, which is considered a leading company in the production of improved and hybrid seeds, has a stockpile of various seed varieties that have been widely accepted by farmers and are suitable for Syrian climatic conditions.
General manager of al-Baydar Agricultural Company, Engineer Muhammad Jabara, affirmred that the broad participation of local and foreign companies creates a high level of competitiveness in providing the best products and equipment that companies excel at.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Kouri, from the National United Development Company (ANCOD), considered the exhibition an opportunity to participate and learn about companies’ products, especially given the advanced agricultural market.
