Budapest, SANA-Syrian national team athlete Abdul Rahman al-Murhej secured the bronze medal at the ongoing Kickboxing World Cup held in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
Al-Murhej gained the bronze in the under-75 kg category in the “Full Contact” discipline.
Additionally, athlete Rayan Kakouni was honored with a commemorative medal in recognition of his outstanding performance.
Representing Syria in officiating were international referees Rateb Hattahat and Khaled Hajji.
During the tournament, Hajji was promoted to International Grade B in acknowledgment of his professional conduct in managing matches
Syrian athlete Laith Hattahat also claimed two medals—silver and bronze—in the “Kick Light” discipline, competing in both the under and over 94 kg weight categories, representing his German club.
The tournament features participation from approximately 3,000 athletes representing 52 countries worldwide.
