Damascus, SANA – Dr. Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar, Minister of Economy and Industry, has met with Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, the Saudi Minister of Investment, to explore ways of boosting economic and developmental cooperation between the two countries. This comes as part of broader efforts to strengthen Arab economic collaboration and unlock new avenues for joint investment.
During a virtual meeting held via video Saturday, the two ministers discussed investment opportunities in Syria and mechanisms for activating economic partnerships. This includes encouraging quality investments in productive and service sectors and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.
Dr. al-Shaar emphasized the importance of developing Syrian-Saudi economic relations, highlighting that the partnership between the two countries is integral to Syria’s strategy for enhancing regional integration and stimulating investment in the post-war phase.
He also highlighted Syria’s commitment to providing an attractive and secure investment environment, opening doors for Saudi and Arab investors to contribute to development and reconstruction.
For his part, Minister Al-Falih expressed his country’s interest in increasing its investments in Syria.
He affirmed the Kingdom’s support for the stability of the Syrian economy and its readiness to create an environment conducive to expanding strategic partnerships between the two countries.
