Syria, Turkey sign MoU to study investment opportunities at automotive sector

Damascus, SANA-The Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding Wednesday with the Turkish company WOX AUTOMOBILES to study investment opportunities in the automotive sector within Syria.

The memorandum was signed at the ministry’s headquarters by the Syrian Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, Engineer Basil Abdul Hanan, and the Turkish company’s representative in Syria, Yasser Zakri.

The memorandum stipulates cooperation in the manufacture and assembly of automobiles, exploring the introduction of electric and hybrid vehicle technologies, exchanging technical and institutional information, and implementing future pilot projects.

The signing of the memorandum comes as part of a government strategic plan to support manufacturing industries, develop the automotive sector, and attract quality investments that support the national economy.
