Baghdad, SANA- Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid affirmed Saturday his country’s rejection of any foreign interference in Syrian affairs, indicating that the level of its participation in the upcoming Arab summit in Baghdad is due to its leadership.
During the Interview on Saturday with Al-Hadath Channel, Iraqi president said regarding the level of Syria’s participation in the summit, that the decision on this issue rests with the Syrian leadership, stressing that Syria is a neighboring, brotherly and important country for Iraq and the entire region, and that Syria’s security is linked to Iraq’s security, especially with the long common border.
Rashid renewed Iraq’s welcome of the change that took place in Syria, expressing his hope that its people will enjoy peace and stability after years of Arab and international isolation, and that the Syrian government will ensure the participation of all components in the political process and take into account the rights of all citizens.
