Damascus, SANA- Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Minister of Defense, Major General Ali Abbas, stressed that Syria, with its army, people, leadership, and the support of its allies and friends, is capable of overcoming field challenges, no matter how severe or difficult they are, affirming that the Syrian Arab Army will not hesitate to restore security and safety to the areas occupied by terrorists.
In a televised statement broadcast by state media, the general said: we are engaging in a fierce battle with strong terrorist organizations that use the guerrilla tactics, forcing our armed forces to employ appropriate methods of retreat and advance, especially these takfiri organizations are supported by regional and international countries that provide them with military and logistical support.
We are in a good field situation and our armed forces carried out a tactical withdrawal and repositioning to preserve the lives of civilians, the Minister of Defense said.
He affirmed that Syria, with its army, people, leadership, and the support of its allies and friends, is capable of overcoming field challenges, no matter how severe or difficult they are.
He also urged the population to be aware of the dangers of this deceptive campaign and to believe only what is published through official national channels.
What happened in the city of Hama is a temporary tactical measure and our forces are still in the vicinity of the city and are fully prepared and ready to carry out their national and constitutional duties, the Minister confirmed.
General Abbas concluded the statement by saying: We advise our people in Syria to be patient and steadfast, and to be confident that we will not be lenient in restoring security and safety to the areas occupied by terrorists.
